GRAB THE ULTIMATE GUIDE TO SEL

Meet Mikey from Mikey D Teach

Hey y’all!

My name is Mikey, and here at Mikey D Teach, I help teachers create meaningful, purposeful time in their upper elementary classrooms for social-emotional learning and all of the awesome goodies that go with it!

I’ve been there. I’ve done that.

I’ve felt the way you feel.

See, we GET each other. We LOVE to educate our students’ minds, bodies, and spirits, and we wish we had more time to work with them on SEL skills and competencies. After all, there’s no point in teaching math when your students aren’t happy and healthy. And maybe you have the time, but you wish someone else would make your lessons and materials for you.

No worries, friend! I’ve got you!! {The Mikey D Teach Promise}

Leave the mundane, mindless tasks to me. {I promise I have fun with them!}

It’s so nice to meet you. I’m Mikey, and I’m here to make sure your enthusiastic, wonderful self can keep that stamina up for your kiddos.

I create social-emotional curriculum and other print and digital resources for your upper elementary classroom so that you, the teacher, can TEACH. {Crazy concept, right?!?}

I take the guesswork out of the CASEL standards.

I give you all the tools to do a bang-up job that will knock the SOCKS off of your principal! {I’m serious. Be prepared to put them back on for him or her.}

In all seriousness, I also design my SEL curriculum to be FUN and FUNCTIONAL for your students. They’ll be so engaged, they won’t even realize where they are!!! {Until the bell rings, of course, and then it’s up to you to reorient them to reality.}

If you need these resources to make your life easier and to give you more personal time back, you’ve arrived! There are resources here on the website, including my Ultimate Guide to SEL!

I can’t wait to collaborate with you, Teach! {I mean, ROCKSTAR!}

Your Teaching Wingman,

Mikey

PS: Want to know even more?!? Check out eleven AWESOME, AMAZING, and EMBARRASSING facts about me!

  1. When I was younger, I dreamed of becoming an Olympic athlete. Figure skater. {Can you even imagine?!}
  2. The ‘D’ in my name is an homage to Doug Funnie. {Just kidding… it stands for my middle name, David.}
  3. I have taught Grades 4, 5, and 6 during my career. Each grade level is fun in its own way! {Except the “Dude, you smell, it’s time to start using deodorant” conversation.}
  4. When I was younger, I would go to the mall food court. I would get massive cookies (like 11″ cookies) with frosting on them, take them home, and then hide them in my room so no one else could eat them. {I love teaching like a fat kid loves… well, mall food court cookies!}
  5. I once received an award for my teaching, and it was from my class. They voted me the “Best Sixth Grade Teacher Ever.” It’s my favorite award. {Yes, it beat out the District Teacher of the Year as my favorite!}
  6. I am a sucker for queso fundido. It’s just so much FUN to eat. {Get it? Queso. FUNdido. ?!?}
  7. No one really knows my family heritage. {If I were a dog, I’d be a mutt.}
  8. When I was sixteen, my parents bought me a new car on my birthday. The day after my birthday, I ran the car through wet tar. {#nomorecarformikeyd}
  9. I also ran said car over a median in a parking lot, blowing out all four tires in the process. {#iamnotagooddriver}
  10. When my parents took that car back, I got an old Ford Tempo with my own money. And then that car caught on fire. {Seriously, such bad luck with cars!}
  11. As much as I like to have fun and be humorous, I also take great pride in my teaching career! I only publish curriculum for amazing teachers {like yourself} once it has passed the Mikey D Teach Stamp of Approval test. {Yes, it’s a real thing}.

Happy Teachers
